About the Role:
Our client is a prestigious Investment Bank, experiencing their highest-billing year on record. The Energy and Infrastructure team is seeking a motivated Investment Banking Analyst to join the Houston office. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile transactions within the energy and infrastructure sectors, including renewables, power, oil & gas, utilities, and public-private partnerships. The ideal candidate is a Y2 IB Analyst, seeking a move to an elite team, where standards are high but the rewards & bonuses are higher.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quantitative Financial Analysis & Modeling: Develop, maintain, and analyze complex financial models, including discounted cash flow (DCF) models, leveraged buyout (LBO) models, and merger/acquisition models to support transaction structuring and valuation.
- Industry Research & Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth research on energy and infrastructure trends, including renewable energy developments, commodity prices, and regulatory impacts. Present findings to senior bankers and clients, ensuring a strategic and data-driven approach to each transaction.
- Transaction Support: Assist with all aspects of transaction execution, from the initial pitch through to closing, including drafting presentations, preparing transaction documentation, and coordinating due diligence processes.
- Client Interaction: Support senior bankers in maintaining and strengthening client relationships by preparing high-quality materials, handling client requests, and understanding clients' strategic needs within the energy and infrastructure space.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with associates, senior bankers, and other departments to deliver accurate and timely insights, ensuring a seamless process across various deal stages.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field
- 1-2 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, consulting, or relevant corporate finance roles (internship experience included)
- Strong knowledge of energy markets, including traditional and renewable sectors
- Proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques
- Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Detail-oriented with exceptional analytical and quantitative skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
