Join our dynamic Consumer Loans team - the team which oversees personal loans (car loans, boat & RV loans, etc), providing quality service to all members throughout the consumer lending process. Support a range of loan activity through loan requests and loan closings. Provide excellent service while maintain our service level standards and being compliant with government regulations. Essential Duties:

  • Communicate final underwriting decisions to all consumer loan applicants and perform ongoing follow-up with approved applicants to increase loan funding ratios.
  • Request and review all required documentation to secure a consumer loan and research or resolve discrepancies prior to scheduling closing; verify member information to prevent fraud and ensure accurate loan details.
  • Coordinate loan closings with all consumer loan applicants by phone and/or electronically and promote member use of web banking and e-signature remote closing options, when possible.
  • Advise retail staff and members with active loan applications on resolving any issues in order to proceed with the closing process; coordinate potential in-person branch loan signing based on member needs and branch staffing availability.
  • Submit consumer loan applications, explain loan product details, rates, terms, payment amount, and all payment protection options including gap insurance and debt protection.
  • Promote a variety of credit union products and services by identifying cross-sell opportunities, as well as alternative loan products when appropriate based on members' needs and qualifications.
  • Remain up-to-date and compliant on all government regulations and credit union policies related to consumer loan applications.
  • Monitor all assigned phone and email queues, respond to member inquiries in a timely manner, maintain service level standards, and follow up with members as needed on potentially abandoned calls or requests
Requirements :
  • Education and Experience
    • High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
    • Minimum 1 year of related experience strongly preferred
  • Skills/Knowledge/Certifications
    • Basic knowledge of financial services and/or banking.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Exceptional customer service skills.
    • Team player yet able to work independently.
    • Computer literacy.
    • Attention to Detail.

Work Environment:
  • After initial onboarding on-site in Chelsea, this position is eligible for Hybrid Work Agreement: minimum of 3 days/week in office. (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and another day to be worked out within department).
