Staff Accountant

Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial skills and experience with Sage Intact. This role is essential for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting our financial management processes. The Staff Accountant will work closely with other team members to contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our financial operations. This position reports directly to the company Financial Controller.
Excellent salary up to $60,000 with excellent full-time benefits and quarterly incentive.
Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain daily deposits of locations.
• Enter daily deposits into sage accounting system.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and maintain bank statements.
• Perform audit of employee insurance payments monthly.
• Administer or assist in the administration of payroll for the organization.
• Process the payment of the employee payroll contributions including but not limited to 437B, 401k and health savings.
• Prepare weekly cash flow analysis.
• Assist with monthly reconciliation of balance sheet.
• Calculate and submit monthly sales tax.
• Ensure accurate balancing from a corporate perspective of teller input from all our center sites.
• Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures, recommending changes.
• Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
• Makes Journal entries for month end.
• Analyzes information through development of spreadsheet reports, verifying that information.
• Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• At least a 2-year Associate degree but a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• 2 - 3 years' experience in accounting or payroll experience.
• Knowledge of accounting rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
• Proven, solid excel skills and exposure to automated accounting systems.
