About this role:

This position is ideal for a mid-level sales-focused, team-oriented professional. The position works closely with a Managing Director to enhance VRC’s presence in the San Francisco Bay Area plus the broader west coast market. Revenue generation and client satisfaction are achieved by working with support teams, coordinating with marketing programs, maintaining good networking relationships, and always acting in a way that portrays VRC culture and values.

What you will do:

  1. Business development for valuation services in support of M&A, divestitures, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations and restructurings - and the valuation of private investment positions.
  2. Develop new client relationships and maintain existing relationships.
  3. Coordinate with the valuation engagement team for their execution of a variety of valuation related assignments in connection with M&A, fair value and mark-to-market studies, fairness opinions, and other valuation support.
  4. Develop marketing collateral, presentations and meeting materials.
  5. Conduct market research to identify target companies and key individuals at those companies.
  6. Monitor M&A activity and trends in the territory and track M&A activity at target companies.
  7. Actively maintain a sales pipeline with documented activity using VRC’s CRM system.
  8. Develop a deep understanding of VRC’s lines of services.
  9. Attend networking and other professional events.
  10. Manage the proposal submission process.

What you will need:

  1. Minimum of 2-5 years’ successful business development experience.
  2. MBA Preferred but not required.
  3. Strong verbal, written communication, listening and interpersonal skills.
  4. Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and collaborate with internal teams to manage time-sensitive engagements.
  5. Strong work ethic and capacity to work flexible hours around critical due dates.
  6. A broad knowledge of finance.
  7. Comfort and experience dealing with private equity firms, asset managers, and corporate accounting staff.
  8. Experience with private equity and/or investment banking a plus.
  9. General understanding of valuation and/or financial reporting also a plus.
  10. Current authorization to work in the United States.
