Security Manager
The Security Manager ensures that U.S. Government (USG) security standards are met throughout the design and construction process. Acting as the primary liaison between the government, contractors, and other key stakeholders, the Security Manager resolves security-related questions and ensures compliance with all relevant security requirements.
Job Description
As a member of the Program Management Office for a large campus construction project, the Security Manager plays a critical role in incorporating USG security regulations into site design and construction. This position works closely with the on-site security manager (SSM), government security officials (SEC), accrediting officials (AOs), physical security/electronics professionals (PSEPs), guard personnel, cleared American guards (CAGs), construction security technicians (CSTs), and other relevant parties.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert input on security aspects of site projects.
- Review construction plans for adherence to USG security standards, including Intelligence Community Directives (ICD), Campus Standards, and Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC).
- Oversee and manage security-focused projects.
- Coordinate with the General Contractor and Trade Contractors to ensure seamless integration of security measures.
- Address security-related inquiries and issues from various entities.
- Advise government and program personnel on security concerns.
Desired Skills
- Project management experience, especially in construction.
- Familiarity with USG security standards, regulations, and processes.
- Experience with physical security systems and equipment, such as electronic access control, intrusion detection, video surveillance, and lighting systems.
