As aSenior Medical Assistant with Sentara, you will work with a dedicated team of professionals who are passionate about serving the underserved in our community. Sentara Community Care consists of two mobile medical clinics and a bricks and mortar office. As a Senior Medical Assistant, you may work on the mobile clinics or office clinic. Primary duties included but not limited to: Rooming patients, Point of Care Testing, phlebotomy, immunizations, clerical duties and community events as they arise. Candidate must be bilingual (English/Spanish) and willing to drive an RV to various sites in the community (No CDL required-on the job training).

Requirements:

1. Certified/Registered Medical Assistant

2. Bilingual in English and Spanish (fluent in speaking, reading and writing)

3. Clean driving record and willing to learn to drive the mobile RV clinic as needed.

4. Some evenings and weekends are required. Weekend clinic hours are 8-1 and would rotate every other week. Community Event dates and times vary and are rotated between team members.

5. 5 years Clinical/Patient Care experience

Job Summary

Perform patient care related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluation, and as delegated or assigned by and/or under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner (NP)/Physician Assistant (PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Perform administrative duties, as appropriate.
Medication Administration (certification/training) is preferred. BLS required within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications:

CER - Certificate: Medical Assisting (Required), HS - High School Grad or Equivalent (Required) Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) RQI, Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - Certification - American Medical Certification Association (AMCA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) - Certification - American Medical Technologists (AMT) Patient Care
