The team will look to you look to you to support Managers to Partners in providing Tax Services. You'll join our Credits & Incentives (C&I) group with a focus on statutory credits and negotiated incentives. Companies are looking to make strategic decisions on where to invest after tax reform, and the U.S. may be a high priority. Investments may be in the form of updates and/or replacement of equipment, modernization of facilities, consolidations, expansion or new facilities, all of which may benefit C&I - services. To make that happen, you'll be working in a highly collaborative culture, alongside colleagues from different practices, where listening to and sharing information is an essential part of the role.

Responsibilities

  • Credits & Incentives professionals work on identifying, qualifying, and calculating tax credits and other incentives.

  • Advising clients with respect to location strategy decisions, as well as credits & incentives related to hiring and/or investments.

  • Communicating with project stakeholders, including internal parties and economic development representatives.

  • Other projects within C&I and/or SALT as required

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline, or a graduate degree in Tax or Law

  • A CPA license or be a licensed attorney, or have the ability to achieve either certification

  • A minimum of two to three years of relevant work experience in a professional services or professional tax organization

  • A thorough understanding of automated tax processing systems and laws within your area of technical professionalism

  • Excellent collaboration and negotiation skills, and the confidence to challenge senior colleagues and stakeholders from a diverse range of backgrounds

  • A commitment to continuing your learning

  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.

  • Superb communications skills (written and verbal).

  • Able to problem solve and think both creatively and logically.

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.

Other Qualifications

  • Experience with SALT credits and incentives

  • Knowledge of unitary filing, apportionment methodologies, tax base rules, tax research, compliance and consulting as it relates to multi-state jurisdictions

  • Experience with state credits and incentives for job creation and qualifying investments

  • Proficiency in Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Experience with return preparation software

  • Experience in working in a variety of teams

  • Ability to adapt your work style to work with both internal and client team members

  • Ability to travel 10%, as applicable, to client / prospect locations

Compensation Range

Salary: $80,000.00 - $105,000.00
