Job Requirements / Description
This is a year-round exempt level position. The Director of Communications and Marketing will direct and oversee the Communications program that effectively describes and promotes Algiers Charter Schools Association. Suggests promotional campaign ideas in various types of media, as well as counsels top management on effective communication strategies.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for strategic planning and implementation of all communication activities.
- Promote programs and enhance public perception of the school, interest parents to send their children, and encourage donors to contribute to ACSA.
- Create comprehensive communication strategies and coordinate and develop publications and marketing materials to best market the schools to external constituencies as well as manage internal communications processes.
- Develop and place local, regional, and national news and features, reaching as many outlets as possible.
- Coordinate public relations for school events which may include, but are not limited to, photography, production of newsletters, press releases for publication, and working with media contacts.
- Provide management and oversight to the Association's website, as well as each School's website.
- Create compelling content across social media platforms to engage the community and create brand value.
- Develop an ACSA brand voice and maintain brand integrity across all platforms.
- Develop, implement, evaluate and refine a comprehensive marketing strategy, including advertising, public relations, and promotions, to help the organization advance and achieve recruitment and key institutional goals.
- Assist in the creation of digital, video, audio and print content.
- Direct public relations efforts and serve as the point of contact for media interactions, to include preparing press releases and overseeing interview preparation.
- Prepare talking points, presentations, speeches, and other supporting materials for ACSA’s leadership team.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Communications, Marketing or a related field, prefer Master degree.
- 3-5 years experience in Marketing/Public Relations.
- Experience with publishing software and creating printed material is vital:
- Adobe Creative Suite
- Photoshop
- Illustrator
- In Design CS4 or higher
- SEO
- Google Analytics
- Website creation/management.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Proficient in all Social Media platforms:
- Vimeo
- WordPress
- Experience with Google Docs and Gmail programs.
- Email marketing tools (Constant Contact).
- Photojournalism experience.
