Insurance Specialist III (Complaint Specialist)
This position involves performing moderately complex (journey-level) handling of written inquiries and processing Property and Casualty consumer complaint files. Work involves analyzing complaints against insurance entities to assure that all possible violations of the Texas Insurance Code, and/or Texas Administrative Code are addressed; that complaint processing procedures are consistently followed; and that all performance measure requirements are completed appropriately. Works under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Employees must have a secure, dedicated workspace with Internet service, ability to maintain a reliable consistent work schedule, and be available for weekly meetings and group collaboration via Microsoft Teams and other applications during regular business hours.

Insurance Specialist III (Complaint Specialist)

- Analyzes and resolves insurance complaints
- Performs workflow duties such as indexing, composing, processing, classifying, and routing documents
- Provides coverage for other TDI helplines
- Performs other duties as assigned.
This position requires:
- Sixty (60) college hours
- Twelve (12) months experience in insurance or a field relative to assignment
- Education and experience relevant to position requirements may be substituted for one another on a year-for-year basis.

- Computers, including experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel software applications
- Communicating and working effectively with all levels of employees and the public
- Problem solving, decision making, and meeting deadlines
- Composing and providing technical correspondence to consumers, insurance company representatives, agents, and others
- Handling escalated customer calls
- Reviewing complex insurance documents
- Work independently and as a team player
- Communicate effectively
- Be flexible and able to handle multiple tasks; and
- Meet daily deadlines.
