Job Description

Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Manager is responsible for leading several day-to-day accounting functions critical to the close process. They also play a key role in select special projects and work closely with Siegfried Business Systems and Workday consultants to drive accuracy and efficiency throughout our financial operations. This role also interacts with multiple constituencies within the Firm, including Professional Resources, National Market Leadership, and National Operations team members. This role works closely and collaborates with Financial Operations and key Functional leaders and teams. We are looking for an energized, self-starter with strong critical thinking skills, who can help drive our monthly close process and strengthen key controls.

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for the month-end and year-end close processes and procedures.
  2. Oversee reconciliation and accrual procedures required within the monthly financial close process.
  3. Own the Company’s Accounts Payable operations, including ensuring appropriate approvals are obtained for the payment of invoices, ensuring invoices are paid within negotiated terms and discounts, overseeing the 1099 year-end reporting process, and monitoring regular data integrity audits to ensure the AP system is in sync with other internal systems and that vendor information is accurately set up.
  4. Ensure that the organizational structure is adequate for achieving the department's reporting goals and objectives.
  5. Provide leadership and mentorship to the Accounts Payable team members to drive a culture of customer service, continuous improvement, and vigorous application of process protocols.
  6. Responsible for continuous process improvement in all financial transaction streams under management including but not limited to – elimination of rework, reduction of waste, implementation of tools to drive efficiencies, reduced defects/errors, and improvement of internal controls.
  7. Development, reporting, and monitoring of key departmental KPI's and metrics.
  8. Oversee Expense Reporting administration and Corporate Card issuance.
  9. Review and initiate check printing, ACH, and Wire payments in banking systems.
  10. Coordinate with the Information Technology team to ensure effective systems are in place to streamline processes and reduce cost to process payable transactions.
  11. Act as the primary liaison between Finance and other functional areas of the business.
  12. Coordinate the evaluation, development, and maintenance of the Firm’s financial controls.
  13. Support the budgeting and forecasting efforts for areas driven by the Accounting Team.
  14. Support the Controller with year-end audit.
  15. Perform other duties as required or assigned by the Controller.

Supervisory Responsibility

The Accounting Manager supervises the Staff Accountants responsible for month close activities.

Required Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.
  2. 7+ years of combined public and private accounting experience within a fast-paced environment requiring professional judgment and flexibility.
  3. Experience in month-end close process through to financial statement preparation, or comparable public accounting knowledge from an audit perspective.
  4. In-depth knowledge and understanding of internal controls.
  5. Excellent general accounting and account reconciliation skills with GAAP knowledge.
  6. Advanced knowledge of sophisticated financial systems required (Workday preferred).
  7. Prior supervisory experience of professional staff, with the ability to lead process improvement efforts.
  8. Advanced proficiency in data analysis and Excel.
  9. Adept in the use of Microsoft 365 software suite and project management tools.
  10. Ability to prioritize workload and perform multiple tasks under pressure.
  11. Strong leadership and management skills.
  12. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  13. Superior written and verbal communication skills.

  20. Ability and willingness to work in a Siegfried office Monday through Thursday (four days per week minimum) in accordance with Siegfried's then-current policy (This requirement is subject to change at the discretion of management).
  21. Ability to work 9-10 hours per day (or an average of 48 to 50 hours per week).
  22. Availability to work nights and weekends as necessary.

  1. Certified Public Accountant, preferred.
