What You'll Do

  • Management oversight of Deposit Operations & Card Services teams. Selects, develops, motivates, coaches and mentors a highly skilled employee team. Clearly communicates goals, objectives, and priorities connected to HFCU’s mission, vision, and values to staff. Establishes and maintains a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Oversees the maintenance of the credit union’s record retention records. Ensures current records (master signature card file, trust documents, POA documents, IRA documents, time deposit documents, and business documents) are up to date and appropriately filed.
  • Completes, files, and maintains all bond loss claims as they relate to fraud and member losses (excluding card services fraudulent bond claims). Coordinates with other departments and outside agencies to ensure proper action and follow up.
  • Oversees the credit union’s annual reporting and processing of abandoned property. Coordinates with other departments and outside agencies to ensure proper action and follow up.
  • Working cross-functionally, leads or participates in organization-wide initiatives and projects. Ensures proper change management amongst teams of responsibility and for changes impacting other areas of the organization.
  • Oversees research and adjustment errors as they relate to operational issues. Works closely with other departments to ensure proper action and follow up.
  • Provides operational support to all credit union staff. Serves as an information resource in assisting credit union staff in troubleshooting system problems and resolution of member issues and complaints.
  • Ensures operational integrity by monitoring adherence to internal policy and procedures and external regulations. Reviews and recommends new policies and procedures that enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of daily operations. Responsible for responding to internal and external audits related to areas of responsibility.
  • Effectively implements new credit union initiatives as they relate to operations and card services and adherence to policy and procedures.
  • Performs other tasks or functions as required, requested, necessary or prudent from time to time.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required

  • Strong desire to work in a purpose-driven organization.
  • Strong leadership qualities with a big picture and pragmatic approach, leading effectively through setting a vision and coaching, motivational techniques, and conflict management.
  • 10 to 12 years of experience.
  • Demonstrated capability and passion for developing talent and a culture of innovation, collaboration, and engagement.
  • Strong delegation and team building skills with the ability to support a team and the team’s work embracing ownership, accountability, and responsibility.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at the senior management level and across all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent analytic, organization, presentation, and facilitation skills; ability to lead multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and to work independently.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Education/Certification/Licenses

  • Bachelor’s degree.

Physical Demands/Conditions Required

Is able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in an emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on a computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off-site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance.
