Part time options of between 7-14 & 15-20 hours a week.
This position operates through the 2024-2025 academic year; approximately mid September through May.
This position serves one or more of DREAM's Guided Mentoring for High School Youth program sites.
Interested in making an impact in the lives of high school and elementary aged youth? Join DREAM's Guided Mentoring program and become an influential figure in the lives of youth. As a Mentor Guide, help provide high school mentors-in-training with the tools, resources, and confidence to provide mentorship to elementary school-aged youth and to grow themselves.
The Guided Mentoring program applies a multi-tiered mentorship design centering on high school youth, utilizing near peer mentoring both for and with our high school youth. Accordingly, this position is for those who have recent professional or lived experience with high school age youth.
The Experience of Service as a Mentor Guide:
In collaboration with DREAM's Guided Mentoring team, you will focus on engaging and supporting one or more small teams of high school mentors-in-training. Following an initial in-person kick-off early in the academic year, you will co-lead virtual mentoring sessions with these students, focusing on building strong relationships and guiding them in their work with their elementary school mentees. Subsequent in-person meetings are expected as well.

Activities focus on reinforcing the Guided Mentoring curriculum, developing and implementing Individual Mentoring Plans (IMPs), and creating powerful, developmental relationships. You will receive training and support around these activities throughout your role, especially early on.
You will plan and co-facilitate lessons and activities which are fun, play-based, and help your mentors-in-training become great mentors to their elementary mentees. Support and guidance will be provided for you to successfully achieve this.
Our objectives include helping to prepare high school youth to have effective, impactful mentorship relationships with elementary age youth, and providing opportunities for them to strengthen and expand their sense of place, identity, and meaning and purpose.
