What you’ll be doing…
The Product Manager (PM) envisions, prioritizes, builds and sells products and services. The role’s mission is to drive the direction and innovation of their product portfolio. They will guide and/or collaborate with a team of product managers and developers in creating product features that not only meet current market needs, but also anticipate future trends. This individual’s blend of business and technical expertise will ensure Verizon's products remain competitive and drive revenue growth, working closely with business sponsors, users and customers to identify key pain points and collaboratively design, build solutions that delight the end-user and then partner with sales and service to sell those products to meet the revenue targets. The PM possesses a blend of business and technical expertise, can see the big picture, drive revenue and has the confidence to make vision into reality.
You will be responsible for developing and managing the product portfolio & P&L performance for device-based services from device protection to device partner ecosystems. As the product manager of device protection and services, you will work closely with leading partners like Asurion, Apple, Samsung and Google on their service offers like Total Mobile Protect, Apple Business Manager, Samsung Knox and Android Enterprise. In addition, you will also work with partners and ISVs to grow Verizon Business device services product offers to include 3rd party device management solutions. Your work will help maintain Verizon business’s leadership position by anticipating our customer’s device management needs and shaping our future offerings to meet them.
What we’re looking for…
- End-to-end ownership of the product(s) from the development lifecycle (ie. ideation to release) and lifecycle management to grow the business (analytics, usage, strategy). Monitors launch and post launch progress.
- Reviewing and prioritizing product requirements; Defining the vision and business strategy for new products; Identify and track KPIs and use them as a cornerstone for communicating to stakeholders, and the teams focus and priorities. Can communicate technical requirements as needed (ie. understand the tech behind the product really well).
- Strong understanding of the market opportunity. Responsibility for the product P&L, identifying and managing commercial risks and ensuring strategic product decisions align with the business decisions.
- Gain an in-depth understanding of customers and users, gathering key insights that will shape the product experience. Balancing those with the limitations defined by key stakeholders.
- Conduct market research customer needs, pain points and perform competitor gap analysis, identifying new offerings to drive growth and converting/refining them into product ideas.
- Work closely with product marketers and engineers to understand the market and technology trends, define and drive product vision, business case, product strategy and distill a product roadmap.
- Partner with engineering on product development to deliver products that are fit for purpose and desirable in the market.
- Collaborate with the Marketing & Sales organization on product positioning, messaging, creating a product distribution and commercialization plan, creating and setting product targets and enablement needs and creating solutions that meet those needs.
- Define MVPs, manage product backlog priorities, and strategically de-scope to achieve rapid feedback cycles.
- Synthesize perspectives across a diverse set of stakeholders to make quick decisions.
- Communicate value of the offering to customers, stakeholders & leaders.
- Identify future potential and opportunity space for your product and get your teams, customers and business network excited about it.
You’ll need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Six or more years of relevant work experience.
- Six or more years of Product Management experience.
- Vendor management experience.
- Experience with understanding consumer insights, market trend analysis, and analytics.
- Deep data and analytic orientation for evidence-based decision making.
- Experience in product portfolio management, and understanding product P&L.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.

- Master’s Degree or MBA.
- Strong product intuition and user empathy.
- Demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent communications and prioritization skills, and strong business acumen.
- Has strong cross-functional skills, can motivate people not on their direct team.
- Experience in operating within a multi-channel/multi-region brand.
- Experience working in a dynamic environment where diverse perspectives are respected and considered for creative solutions to difficult problems.
- Entrepreneurial self-starter who is self-motivated, but also a team player with a professional presence.
- Experience in leading cross-functional teams and motivating/inspiring them to go the extra mile, even in uncertain circumstances.
- Experience in marketing or deployment for wireless communication devices and services.
- Device ecosystem and services experience.
- Vendor management experience.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $119,000.00 and $221,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
