Position Summary

The role of the Revenue Cycle Credit Supervisor is a valued member of our Revenue Cycle team. As a Revenue Cycle Credit Supervisor, you are responsible for timely and accurate resolution of daily refund requests, credit balance audits, and the management of complex credit/debit balance scenarios. The Revenue Cycle supervisor will be responsible for understanding payor contracts, payor offset policies and recoupment procedures. This position will work remotely and report directly to the Revenue Cycle Director.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Overall responsible for day-to-day supervision and processes of the credit balance team.
  • Daily review and timely approval of refunds and adjustments initiated by credit balance team.
  • Manage complex credit balance process.
  • Conduct audits to validate accuracy and adherence to policy and procedures.
  • Recommends process improvements and/or solutions for deficiencies in workflows and processes completed by credit balance team.
  • Reports on root causes of credits and provides trends on patterns in overpayments to Revenue Cycle Director.
  • Monitors and ensures credits are processed in accordance with state and government guidelines.
  • Responsible for weekly/monthly status reporting to Revenue Cycle Director.
  • Develops, implements and revises departmental policies and procedures.
  • Monitor payer offset policies and keep up to date with overpayment and recoupment policies and procedures.
  • Schedule, assign and prioritize workload within the department.
  • Develops, monitors, coaches, and manages staff ensuring the development of employees through orientation, training, communication of rules and constructive discipline.
  • Meets regularly with credit balance team.
  • Completes all required projects and reports in a timely fashion per the direction of the Revenue Cycle Director.
  • Other revenue cycle duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Health Service Administration (or related field) preferred, or a minimum 3+ years direct healthcare financial management experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Nextgen and Amkai experience preferred.
  • Prior experience at Proliance Surgeons preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Complete understanding and in-depth knowledge of credits, billing, collections, denial management workflow and associated processes at an intermediate level or above.
  • Ability to serve as both a hands-on supervisor and a high performing individual contributor.
  • Excellent judgement, understanding what s/he does not know and what questions to ask to reach well informed decisions that minimize risk.

Work may be performed in an office and clinical environment. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Use of telephone and computer is required. Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 pounds. May require working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
