The George E. Booth Co. is a family-owned and operatedindustrial automation sales company looking to hire their next full-time AccountsPayable Specialist to join our accounting team.
The George E. Booth Co. is a major distributor of processinstrumentation products and related services to customers in Illinois,Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee. Founded in 1963, George E. Booth Sr. recognized that there would be anatural evolution in the development of products for the industrialinstrumentation process field.
In addition to excellent computer and communication skills,including written and verbal, the ideal candidate will have strong attention todetail and organizational abilities, analytical skills and will work well in ateam environment.
All candidates must be legally authorized to work in theUnited States.
Responsibilities
• Process outgoing payments in compliance withfinancial policies and procedures
• Perform day to day financial transactions,including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data
• Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensurethat all bills and payments are accounted for and properly documented
• Verify and investigate discrepancies byreconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements
• Facilitate payment of invoices due by sendingbill reminders and contacting clients
• Generate reports detailing accounts payablesstatus
• Understand expense accounts, inventory and costcenters
• Understands compliance issues around accountspayable processes (W-9, sales tax, etc.)
Requirements and skills
• Proven working experience as Accounts PayableClerk
• Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping andaccounting payable principles
• Familiarity with Doc Star Software system andhave an understanding of the accounting side of ERP software systems
• Proven ability to calculate, post and manageaccounting figures and financial records
• Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
• Hands-on experience with spreadsheets andproprietary software
• Proficiency in English and in MS Office
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Experience in distribution accounting
• BSc degree in Finance, Accounting or BusinessAdministration
