Principal Financial Group - Senior Associate Accountant Investments

Principal Asset Management Investment Accounting (ACA) team is looking for a Senior Associate Accountant who possesses both high integrity values and initiative. We are looking for someone who really wants to deepen their knowledge of investments and systems (ex. PAM Accounting system, MarkitEDM).

The role is on our investment accounting team which is responsible for the daily and monthly accounting for our consolidated (General Account) derivatives, fixed income and alternative investments. Functions on the team include daily processing at an asset level, reconciliations, valuation, corporate actions, security builds, and impairments. Meeting deadlines, control focused, attention to detail as well as balancing multiple priorities and tasks will be key in this role. We are also looking for someone who embraces change, challenges the status quo, actively participates in generating new insights and continues to advance automation.

Functions in the role include:

  1. Daily transaction processing, including cash, trades and security data points
  2. Researching, analyzing and following-up on open or outstanding items
  3. Performing other job-related duties or special projects as time allows

Who You Are:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience required.

2+ years relevant experience, CPA or other applicable certifications preferred.

Able to manage complexities using resources and problem-solving skills preferred.

Communicates effectively and actions-oriented abilities encouraged.

Salary Range Information:

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range: $57000 - $77900 / year

Time Off Program:

Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness.

Additional Information:

This role offers in-office and hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek) work arrangements.
