Position Description
Dock Attendants, or Dock Hands, are the front line of customer service. They are usually the first interaction a boater has with the marina and must make a positive first impression. Therefore, they must be responsible individuals who will present themselves well to the boaters.
  • Assisting boats docking and undocking.
  • Dockhands are responsible for selling gas and diesel fuel at a high volume fuel dock.
  • Accurately process credit card and cash payments.
  • Securing water and electrical supply to boats as required. Check dock lines and utility supplies as necessary during changing weather conditions.
  • Properly check transients in and out using the marina's reservation software.
  • Providing customer service, such as helping to load and unload supplies, delivering ice, and other small tasks to enhance customer experience.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of the marina, including emptying trash cans, cleaning interior spaces and marina equipment ensuring the marina looks its best.
  • Assistance as required in general Marina maintenance and repairs.
  • Professionally answer the telephone and VHF radio.
  • Know and understand the emergency procedures.
  • Assistance as assigned in hurricane or storm preparation.
  • Knowledge of marina rates.
  • Knowledge of Marina regulations and enforcement procedures.
  • Any other duties as assigned by Management.

Work Schedule:
Hours are to be scheduled by Dockmaster, depending upon season. Normally works weekends and holidays, on call for all emergencies and storms.
Working Conditions & Physical Effort:
Physical work is a primary part of many of our hotel and resort jobs. Physical requirements include extended standing and walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and lifting to 50 lbs. Some work is performed in an interior hotel environment with equipment and machines. The work involves exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dirt, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. The exposure to hazards or physical risks requires following basic safety precautions and use of applicable protective equipment.
This is a seasonal position with work available from early June through mid-September. Team Meals & Employee housing available (dormitory style).
This is a seasonal position with work available from mid-April into October. Dormitory Housing & team meals available.
