Lab Manager

Principle Tasks

  • Recommend process enhancements to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Monitor and analyze data from processes and experiments; use data to make recommendations for improvements and maintain inventory of chemicals and lab supplies
  • Collaborate with many departments and external entities to manage conflict and negotiation
  • Set up, operate and maintain a variety of standard laboratory equipment such as vacuum pumps, furnaces, chemical hoods, powdering handling systems, etc.
  • Participate in cost reduction and quality improvement projects
  • Take initiative to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and upgrade laboratory technology to maintain the integrity of the laboratories
  • Establish and enforce safety procedures for working with chemicals and equipment
  • Write and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to organize tasks, maintain lab
  • Assist research and development in transition of new products to manufacturing
  • Detail-oriented and organized; ability to multi-task and complete deliverables on time


Edu/ Training/ exp required

  • Bachelors in chemistry, engineering sciences, or similar from an accredited college/university.
  • 3+ years of post-graduate experience in a research laboratory and/or chemical manufacturing setting. Laboratory management experience highly desirable.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with a variety of team, stakeholders and end users
  • Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) is preferred.
  • Advanced use of spreadsheets and/or database software to plan, analyze, and report on projects, experimental data, and logs.
  • Advanced understanding of Chemical Safety and Regulatory requirements including handling hazardous materials
  • Experience with ordering and maintaining lab supplies and chemicals and budgeting.
  • Must be a Citizen of the US

Must be willing to relocate to and work onsite in Albuquerque, NM.
