AWS’ Infrastructure Supply Chain & Procurement (ISCaP) organization works to deliver cutting-edge solutions to source, build and maintain our socially responsible data center supply chains. We are a team of highly-motivated, engaged, and responsive professionals who enable the core sustainable infrastructure of AWS. Come join our team and be a part of history as we deliver results for the largest cloud services company on Earth!

The AIS-SC Networking team is looking for a results-oriented individual to own supply management for the Cables category. This individual will own the supply strategy and relationship with multiple suppliers of DAC, AEC, and PCIe cables and will interact with engineering to coordinate ramp and launch of new high speed networking cables. Our Global Supply Managers are (or become) experts in their industries and help drive the explosive growth of AWS.

General Work Activities:

  1. Create and execute supply planning strategies to meet the category, department, project and customer needs.
  2. Prioritize activities and align with stakeholders to deliver supply globally with a high degree of predictability.
  3. Manage supplier relationships and allocation of material to demands based on priority.
  4. Be a subject matter expert for the customers, technologies, and markets in which you engage.
  5. Manage cross-functional projects against plans and objectives to meet commitments and goals.
  6. Identify and drive realization of opportunities for durable, relative advantage in your category.

Function Specific Work Activities:

  1. Analyze industry trends and evolving technology to proactively identify supply base opportunities to minimize risk, protect continuity of supply, and utilize industry developments that benefit Amazon.
  2. Identify and pursue opportunities to leverage and consolidate the supply base using system level tools and techniques.
  3. Understand forecasting, demand planning, material/supply/inventory planning, and manufacturing processes/capacity to verify supply commitments.
  4. Manage supply buffers and allocation to shorten lead times and build resiliency into the supply chain without driving excess.
  5. Drive supplier improvement initiatives to continually lower risk and reduce lead times.
  6. Influence suppliers' manufacturing processes, technology decisions, and policies in ways that are mutually beneficial and sustainable for both organizations.

A day in the life:

You will be working closely with multiple cables suppliers to plan supply of critical cables used across all server and networking racks. You will partner with engineering to develop and launch new platforms, drive second sourcing strategies, implement buffer plans, and manage inventory to target levels to drive optimal cost and supply supportability strategies. In this role you will be looking at "what's next" on the technology roadmap so you can build a supply strategy to support it.

About the team:

Diverse Experiences. AWS values diverse experiences. Even if you do not meet all of the preferred qualifications and skills listed in the job description, we encourage candidates to apply. If your career is just starting, hasn’t followed a traditional path, or includes alternative experiences, don’t let it stop you from applying.
