They are Integrity, Teamwork, Passion for Winning, Ownership & Leadership.GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY:The Manufacturing Engineer position will be responsible for estimating labor requirements and assuring that work is performed in an efficient and safe manner. This individual will check product costing for accuracy along with manufacturing feasibility. The Manufacturing Engineer must evaluate labor, equipment, packaging and processes to implement productivity improvements.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Investigate and recommend solutions to issues with manufacturing processes, labor, equipment, materials, and layoutsInterview supervisors and operators to identify improvements and assure effective implementation of changesManage labor estimate requests and Bill of Material validation for new and existing productsCommunicate with multiple departments including corporate functions to assure accurate labor estimates and feasibility of new products or packagingImprove direct labor efficienciesReview labor standards and make updates as neededConsider quality, environmental, health and safety while implementing manufacturing changesProvide leadership and support to cross-functional teams comprised of Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Marketing, Packaging, Environmental, Safety and Materials.Develop business case and financial justification for implementing capital projectsCreate standard operating procedures and training for equipment or processes.Lead or support Kaizen and VA/VE eventsProject management from ideation, justification, implementation to sustainabilityDeliver results that support engineering and organizational mission.JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Technical knowledge of estimating labor requirementsTechnical knowledge of ergonomicsFamiliarity with Lean manufacturing techniquesGood presentation, communication, and professional skillsAbility to handle multiple tasksStrong leadership and teamwork abilitiesFinancial acumen related to manufacturing conceptsProficient in Power BIMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field or equivalent work in an engineering or engineering related role2+ years in a manufacturing environmentInjection molding experience a plusNewell Brands (NASDAQ: NWL) is a leading global consumer goods company with a strong portfolio of well-known brands, including Rubbermaid, Sharpie, Graco, Coleman, Rubbermaid Commercial Products, Yankee Candle, Paper Mate, FoodSaver, Dymo, EXPO, Elmer’s, Oster, NUK, Spontex and Campingaz.
