Location and Schedule:
In this position, you can expect to work on-site at Denver International Airport 40 hours a week. Depending on the project assignment, some weekend and evening availability may be required.
What You’ll Do:

This Senior Vice President role will serve as an active, hands-on leader for DEN’s Systems Integration Management Office (SIMO), dedicated to serve as a central office ensuring the work of capital/program management, operations, maintenance, and customer service are properly integrated into one single ecosystem that coordinates and anticipates system impacts, challenges, and opportunities.
Actively leads the Director of Systems Integration, Fellows, and Interns to establish goals and major priorities for SIMO. Working closely with DEN senior leadership team this role will be responsible for establishing key expectations and implement SIMO protocols that create one cohesive ecosystem within DEN.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides active senior leadership and direction in the establishment and development of a team that leads policies, goals, performance measures, and strategies for SIMO.
- Leads programs in identifying organizational objectives for innovation, facilitating interactions with innovators, and implementing challenging new initiatives.
- Directs the planning, funding, implementation, testing and learning from pilot projects to help DEN explore new approaches and to deliver world class service.
- Consults with the Chief of Staff (COS) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to make recommendations for SIMO major priorities, strategic direction and goal development.
- Designs, implements, and learns from pilot projects to test and identify new strategies and technologies.
- Develops strategic partnerships with local, state, and federal agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Establishes procedures in coordination with other DEN departments to ensure that key program/project activities align with DEN policies, federal regulations, and all applicable state and local laws.
- Prepares and presents written and oral reports and presentations to executive management, the executive team, City Council, the mayor, outside agencies, and the community.
- Leads staff in inter-departmental and inter-agency collaboration and partnership.
- Partners with the academic community and the private sector to research past and leading-edge ideas and philosophies to address current and anticipated challenges and concerns.
- Analyzes, develops, and supervises implementation of innovative means of funding and financing agency projects and services.
- Participates and takes leadership position in regional forums; leads inter-agency task forces and technical advisory groups.
- Directs the preparation and full life cycle of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to advance DEN innovation and Systems Integration related priorities.
- Models and ensures Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Accessibility values are integrated into programming and carried out.
- May be required to perform other related job duties.

Ideal Qualifications:
A combination of education and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position. Additional experience, as outlined below, may be substituted for required education on a year-for-year basis. A typical combination includes:
- Individuals hired to lead the Systems Integration Management Office should have effective leadership experience convening subject matter experts (SMEs) to streamline communications, priorities, deadlines and project/program outcomes, and the ability to identify all work streams within the organization and manage multiple stakeholder groups.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in business, Public Administration, Public Policy, Urban Planning, Aviation Planning, or a related field; Master′s Degree in a related field preferred.
Experience
Five years of relevant executive management-level experience performing, planning, policy, program management, and/or project development/management. Experience convening subject matter experts (SMEs) to streamline communications, the ability to identify all work streams within the organization and manage multiple stakeholder groups.
Please do not apply if you do not have these minimum qualifications:
- Five (5) years of leadership experience, which must have included director-level management responsibilities.
- One (1) year of management experience must include budget and fiscal oversight responsibility, evaluation of business processes, and policy and decision making experience with planning and organizing multiple programs, projects, operations or functions.
Education/Experience Equivalency: Two (2) years of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education.
Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
License/Certifications: This job requires driving. Requires a valid Driver’s License at the time of application.
