Experience:

  1. BS in a scientific discipline.
  2. 10+ years of regulated industry experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  3. Minimum of 6 years leadership experience, including management of direct reports is preferred.
  4. Strong working knowledge of cGMP regulations and Regulatory Agency requirements applicable to biologics and cell therapy manufacturing.
  5. Demonstrated experience building and leading exceptional teams.
  6. Ability to apply Lean, Six Sigma and Risk Management concepts and tools is preferred.
  7. Ability to work in a high-paced team environment, meet deadlines, and prioritize work from multiple projects.
  8. Strong analytical and communication skills as well as sound judgment, with the ability to work effectively with others.
  9. Demonstrated success working in a high-performing, business results-driven environment.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Provide supervision of Quality Control (QC) associates and technicians. Oversee the day-to-day activities related to sample management, lab support, lab scheduling & e-System business ownership.
  2. Develop and manage a daily work plan for the teams listed above.
  3. Hire, mentor, and develop exceptional QC personnel.
  4. Identify and mitigate risks in QC laboratories, processes, and/or systems that could negatively impact lab operations and QC performance.
  5. Ensure QC testing is performed within established turnaround time targets, using scheduling systems and tools.
  6. Assist in the design, implementation and continuous improvement of Quality Control systems and processes that are technically sound, promote effective and efficient operations, and comply with cGMP requirements.
  7. Provide leadership support during troubleshooting of sample management or lab support issues.
  8. Ensure deviations, CAPA, change controls, process transfers, and other business drivers are supported in a compliant manner.
  9. May work in areas that may have strong magnets.
  10. May work in areas with exposure to vapor phase liquid nitrogen.
  11. May be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and other clean room garments daily.
  12. May be required to work in and around laboratories and controlled, enclosed, restricted areas, including clean rooms.
  13. May be required to carry and/or lift up to 10 pounds several times a day.
  14. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand; walk; sit; bend; stretch; use hands and fingers, with various manipulations; reach with hands and arms; and effectively communicate with others in the workplace.
The starting compensation for this job is a range from $127,000 - $159,000, plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility).

The starting pay takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and where the job is performed. Final, individual compensation is decided based on demonstrated experience.
