Summary

The Design Engineer will work as part of the Engineering team on a full range of projects and activities related to R&D, product design & simulation, product testing and field & customer support in close collaboration with various other departments and functions of the company. The primary product around which these efforts will be centered are various rotodynamic pump types, accessories and systems. A high degree of self-motivation, enterprise and innovative ability is required of this position.

This position is is located either in Cedarburg, WI or Rosemont, IL, where our offices are located.


Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Design product components & systems, taking ownership of the entire process from concept through manufacturing
  • Perform various engineering calculations, run computer simulations especially FEA of various types, conduct optimization studies and implement findings effectively
  • Set up part numbers, create bills of materials and upload to company data systems for new product development projects
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders & partners to execute all actions needed for successful product manufacturing, testing and market launch
  • Prepare reports, presentations, manuals and other product literature as needed
  • Provide support as needed to various departments and functions in furtherance of the company's business objectives and customer care
  • Support the acquisition and management of company & product certifications
  • Provide technical product training as needed for company personnel
Requirements:

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from a US-accredited institution
  • Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is strongly preferred due to the advanced technical challenges of this function
  • Strong knowledge and aptitude of engineering fundamentals & principles and various manufacturing processes
  • Intermediate-advanced level expertise in design and simulation software like PTC Creo, ANSYS Mechanical and other engineering analysis tools
  • Creative thinking, problem-solving skills and detail orientation
  • Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously & effectively
  • Ability to work effectively in an individual capacity as well as collaboratively with teams
  • Strong, comprehensive communication & presentation skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
