Job Title: Finance and Operations Manager (Part-Time)

Organization: Margaret Fuller Neighborhood House

Reports To: Chief Executive Officer

Hours: 20 hours per week (Monday to Thursday, 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm and Fridays, 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm)

Location: 71 Cherry Street, Cambridge, MA 02139 (On-site position)

Pay: $26 to $30 per hour, based on experience

Position Summary: As the Finance and Operations Manager, you will ensure our organization's smooth and efficient operation. This part-time position is perfect for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a dynamic environment. You will manage our financial processes, oversee operational functions, and support our mission to foster community growth and empowerment.


Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management:

  • Lead the preparation and consolidation of the organizational budget, forecast, and long-term outlook, including identifying and quantifying the organization's risks and opportunities.
  • Maintain and enhance financial models and supporting schedules every month, improving budgeting and forecasting accuracy.
  • Oversee daily financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and budgeting.
  • Prepare and present monthly financial reports to the Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
  • Manage grant accounting and reporting to ensure proper tracking and utilization of funds.


Operational Oversight:

  • Manage the organization's day-to-day operations, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and efficient environment for staff and community members.
  • Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of our historic building and facilities.
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers to ensure optimal operations.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.


Administrative Support:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of organizational policies and procedures.
  • Support the Chief Executive Officer with administrative tasks and special projects.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records and documentation.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects as required by the leadership teams.
  • Oversee IT functions and liaise with technology service providers to ensure smooth technological operations.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in financial management and operations.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Margaret Fuller Neighborhood House.
  • Experience with non-profit financial management is preferred.
