Position Summary
The Electrical Technician provides a high level of technical assistance to production within our Manufacturing Engineering team.
This position reports to Manufacturing Engineering Manager.
According to the FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act), this position is classified as:

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Installation and Maintenance :

    • Installing and maintaining various instruments and control systems used in industrial processes
    • This includes sensors, transmitters, control valves, actuators, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers)
  • Troubleshooting and Repair :
    • Diagnosing and troubleshooting issues with instrumentation and control systems to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime
    • Responding to equipment work request ensuring maximum equipment uptime driving overall equipment effectiveness of the production facility
  • Upgrades and Modifications :
    • Implementing upgrades or modifications to existing control systems to improve efficiency, reliability, or safety
    • This may involve replacing obsolete components, reprogramming PLCs, or integrating new technologies to enhance process automation
  • Collaboration and Communication :
    • Collaborating with engineers, operators, and other stakeholders to optimize control strategies for industrial processes. Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate maintenance activities, share knowledge, and address operational challenges.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required
  • Associate’s degree in Electronics, Engineering Technology, Industrial Automation, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics or a related field
  • PLC Experience
  • Microsoft Office Suite Experience, including experience logging and communicating data through Excel spreadsheets
  • Ability to work with direction
Preferred
  • PLC - Allen Bradley Product Knowledge

    • Compactlogix or CCW (connected components workbench)
  • IPC – BECKHOFF Product Knowledge
  • Familiarity of Banner products
  • Experience with CMMS software such as Mpulse or EPAC
  • Minimum 3 years of experience
  • Familiarity with NFPA 79 and related codes
  • Ability to work independently

  • Ability to see clearly; safely and readily identifying the labels, gauges, dials and indicators typically encountered in performing job duties
  • Ability to read, write and understand instructions and procedures in English
  • Ability to work outside of a normal shift rotation during call-outs or planned maintenance outage
