We are searching for an Anesthesia Technician III -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will assist licensed anesthesia providers in the acquisition, preparation and application of the equipment and supplies required for the administration of anesthesia. In this role, you will contribute to safe and efficient anesthesia care, providing support in routine and complex surgical cases. You will prepare and maintain patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems before, during, and after anesthesia.

In this role, you will see General, CV, and Cath Lab cases.

Qualifications

  1. H.S. Diploma or GED
  2. Preferred Licenses/Certifications
  3. BLS - Cert-Basic Life Support by the American Heart Association
  4. CER-A-T - Cert-Cert Anesthesia TECH by the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists (ASATT)
  5. Associate's Degree - Completion of an anesthesia technician training program approved by the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians (ASATT)
  6. Required 5 years of Anesthesia Technician experience
  7. Cardiovascular and/or cath lab experience preferred

As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, all successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  1. Performs and/or assists with procedures. Assists anesthesiologist with preparation and placement of neurophysiologic monitors.
  2. Assists with induction by connecting patient to monitors.
  3. Assists with intubation and maintenance of patient’s airway.
  4. Assists with the insertion of IVs and other invasive lines. Assists anesthesiologist during outside cases.
  5. Anticipates needs of anesthesiologist in invasive monitor insertion and procedures.
  6. Provides support to the patient care team throughout the case.
  7. Performs salvaged blood processing per protocol, as required by Department when needed.
  8. Prepares and sets up equipment, including age-appropriate anesthesia equipment, monitors, and airway.
  9. Provides troubleshooting to correct equipment problems.
  10. Evaluates, prepares, and sets up equipment needed for out of department anesthesia procedures.
  11. Conducts other patient-related procedures and maintains specialty devices used in the clinical area.
  12. Stocks operating rooms and anesthesia carts with necessary supplies.
  13. Maintains an inventory of properly functioning anesthesia equipment.
  14. Maintains sterile supplies within expiration date.
