Title: Embedded System Engineer

Location: Bonita Springs, FL (Onsite)

Employment Type: Fulltime Permanent with AXISCADES.



Position Overview


The Senior Embedded Systems Engineer will significantly contribute to product development and process improvement through innovation and leadership. This role involves embedded systems development, focusing on the design and development of diesel exhaust fluid sensors.


Job Responsibilities


Leading and supporting product design and development

Participating in design reviews

Collaborating closely with other functional teams

Developing embedded software

Conducting HIL testing

Supporting production issues.


Education & Experience Required


Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering

Minimum of 5 years of experience in the design and development of embedded systems, specifically within the automotive or related industries.


Specific Experience


Proven expertise in leading and supporting the product design and development of embedded systems, particularly in automotive applications.

Hands-on experience in embedded software development, including firmware for mixed signal systems.

Demonstrated capability in conducting hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing and supporting production issues.

Experience with board bring-up, debugging, and conducting design review processes including DFMEA analysis.


Technical Skills Required


Strong knowledge of C and C++ . Familiarity with assembly language and Python.

A understanding of how microcontrollers and microprocessors work, including their architecture and peripherals.

Knowledge of RTOS The ability to troubleshoot and debug embedded systems. This includes the use of tools like JTAG, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers

Understanding hardware at the component level, including reading of datasheets and schematics, is necessary to effectively interface with and control hardware components.

Familiarity with communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, and CAN

Proficiency in using version control system like GIT.

Skilled in electronics designs using Altium Designer.

Strong background in developing mixed signal embedded systems.

Familiarity with source control and issue tracking tools.

Experience administering a build server environment and generating electronics designs.

Data Analysis.


Technical Skills Desired


Experience with Texas Instruments development tools and C2000 series microcontrollers.

Knowledge of automotive industry standards and best practices in embedded development.

Experience in maintaining software engineering infrastructure, git repositories, and workflows (specifically Bitbucket and JIRA).

Awareness of EMI/EMC best practices in electronics hardware design.

Working knowledge of ISO/SAE automotive electrical standards such as ISO7637, ISO16750, ISO11452, SAEJ1113, CISPR25, and J1939.


Soft Skills


Strong Communication Skills: Ability to clearly convey technical information to both technical and non-technical team members

Team Collaboration: Experience working effectively within cross-functional teams

Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
