Position Overview

The Senior Product Manager is responsible for the implementation and ongoing operational effectiveness of GEHA’s Medicare Advantage (MAPD) and Part D Employer Group Waiver Program (EGWP) offerings. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving the development and execution of our Medicare product strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. As a Senior Product Manager, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products that meet the needs of our customers and contribute to the success of our organization. The individual will be responsible for ensuring the portfolio is implemented as designed across cross-functional platforms and reflected accurately in all materials and reference documentation. The Senior Product Manager will have experience in and continue to build expertise across the following areas: Original Medicare (OM) and MA-specific industry knowledge, market trends, and regulatory guidance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Own the Medicare product capability and serve as the organization’s subject matter expert (SME) on Medicare related products.
  • Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from ideation to launch, ensuring products meet regulatory compliance and customer expectations.
  • Contribute to the strategic development of the product roadmap for all Medicare product enhancement and expansion efforts.
  • Act as liaison to Medicare Advantage vendor partner in all matters regarding design, implementation, and ongoing operations of GEHA’s MA products.
  • Work collaboratively with the Product Development team to assess emerging and relevant MA trends that enable GEHA to deliver a meaningful and innovative experience.
  • Research and develop institutional knowledge regarding Part D EGWP rules and administration.
  • Track consumer trends and competitive landscape to assess market dynamics that support strong product performance.
  • Assist with the development of the marketing and training materials to support annual readiness.
  • Coordinate with internal cross-functional teams - Compliance, Marketing, Enrollment, IT, and other operational areas - on implementation and administration.
  • Responsible for portfolio inquiries regarding benefit design intent, and issue resolution.
  • Ensure accuracy for all deliverables.

Requirements Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 8 plus years of experience in the healthcare industry and product development with at least 3 years of experience working in a role that requires a deep understanding of Medicare/Medicare Advantage.
  • Requires in-depth, technical experience with health care product development and medical benefits.
  • Strong knowledge of the Medicare-specific regulatory and legislative environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to multitask and understand how to prioritize tasks based on importance vs. immediacy.
  • Requires strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present to groups of various sizes and leadership levels.
  • Solid planning, organization, and analytical skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to bring complex projects to a successful conclusion.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of federal employee health benefit programs.
  • Knowledge of Part D EGWP rules and administration.

Work-at-home requirements

  • Must have the ability to provide a non-cellular High Speed Internet Service such as Fiber, DSL, or cable Modems for a home office.
  • A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 30x5 (30mbps download x 5mbps upload) is required.
  • Latency (ping) response time lower than 80 ms.
  • Hotspots, satellite and wireless internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
  • A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

The annual base salary range for this position is $99,460 - $139,340 USD.
