Responsibilities
As a Digital Film Distribution Intern, you will collaborate closely with our home entertainment and digital distribution teams. We seek dynamic, motivated students who want to acquire firsthand experience in an independent film setting. Your contribution will be pivotal in supporting our growing portfolio of innovative releases.
- Coordinate the timely delivery of captivating creative materials.
- Manage metadata resources and internally communicate to ensure the accuracy of all fields (synopsis, cast, MPA rating, etc.).
- Stay updated on the quantitative updates and trends in the competitive landscape of the TVOD, SVOD, and AVOD spaces.
- Assist in monitoring platform placement on VOD/EST release dates.
- Keep direct-to-consumer websites up-to-date with various materials, including artwork and metadata (Video Store, Merch Store, Marketing, etc.)
- Handle invoice processing.
- Conduct research on marketing and distribution plans to develop a strong understanding of the competitive landscape; create case study decks showcasing past successful releases.
Important Information Before Applying:
- Program Dates: The internship runs from January 13, 2025, to May (exact dates are flexible based on academic schedules)
- Our internships are paid, and offer a competitive hourly rate of $17.50. While school credit isn’t mandatory, we can provide documentation for it if needed. Note that relocation assistance is not available.
- We prioritize your commitment to learning and growth, and thus our interns should be available for 2-3 full days a week, which equates to approximately 16-24 hours weekly. You will have the flexibility to design your schedule to accommodate your academic commitments.
- This internship involves collaboration and requires on-site participation at one of our NEON offices in either Los Angeles, California, or the Soho district of New York City.
- Interviews will be conducted from October to early December. If your skills and interests align with one of our available internship roles, a member of the NEON team will reach out to you. Due to the high volume of applications, we regret that we are unable to provide individual status updates.

Eligible candidates must be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university, with at least one class in the semester prior to the internship (Summer/Fall 2024) or currently participating in a NEON Internship.
What we’re looking for:
- A passion for independent film and a proactive, positive attitude.
- Strong computer skills, especially in Google Docs and Excel.
- A collaborative spirit and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Cultural literacy and a curiosity to engage with marketing and distribution campaigns.
- Quick learner with strong problem-solving capabilities.
- High attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
- Strong communication and analytical writing abilities.
- Previous experience in communications or public relations is a plus.
In addition to the above qualifications, proficiency in Photoshop and Premiere, as well as familiarity with Google and Microsoft Office suites, is required.
