Job Description:
The HR Generalist is responsible for supporting the HR and Talent Management functions and processes for attorney and staff populations in an assigned region. This position works with various teams within HR to support daily operations, manage the onboarding and departure processes, and serves as point of contact for employees on HR-related topics and personnel matters. A hybrid work schedule is available for this position.

Reporting Relationships:
This position reports to a Director, Regional HR.
Responsibilities:
- Build effective and positive relationships with firm personnel at all levels.
- Support new hire integration, create and host orientation programs, and process new hire paperwork.
- Lead and coordinate administrative communications for arrivals, departures, office transfers and other personnel changes.
- Lead and coordinate departure process for staff employees, including conducting exit interviews.
- Support recruiting efforts driven by firm-wide attorney and staff recruiting teams, including greeting and hosting candidates as well as periodic participation in interview processes.
- Handle routine employee relations issues.
- Assist with the performance evaluation process for associates, counsel and staff.
- Administer and execute HR programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, work arrangements, mental health and well-being, recognition and morale, occupational health and safety, and training and development.
- Recommend new approaches and procedures to continually improve team efficiency and raise the level of service provided to internal clients.
- Understand, adhere to, and implement firm policies.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations. Review policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new HR technologies, talent management, and employment law.
- Coordinate summer associate program, including planning and hosting events, coordinating work assignment distribution, and gathering feedback.
- Provide general support for, and participation in, various HR initiatives and/or committees.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in HR, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, HR or related field or commensurate work experience required. HR certification preferred.
- Demonstrated professionalism and high regard for confidentiality.
- Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Self-starter with ability to remain self-directed and self-motivated with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with impeccable attention to detail.
- Ability to learn quickly and apply training to practical issues.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
- Knowledge of HR functions and best practices.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Competence and comfort utilizing various video conferencing technologies, and team collaboration tools, such as WebEx teams.
- Ability to travel to other office in an assigned region as needed.
- Flexibility to work extended hours as needed.

In accordance with applicable Federal and State laws, the anticipated annual salary range for this position, depending on location, is as follows: New York, NY; Long Island, NY: $72,715 to $104,012.
In addition to a standard benefits package, this role may be eligible for additional contingent compensation based on an array of factors, including but not limited to: work performance, geographic location, work experience, education, and qualifications.
