Summary: Enru Logistics and Postal Optimization is looking for Director Transportation – Digital Operations. This role sits in Atlanta, GA and reports to the CEO with a dotted line to the VP of Transportation.

The Director Transportation – Digital Operations oversees the Enru+ program which is a technology driven trucking fleet that leverages proprietary software to plan, optimize and route trucks efficiently and in an automated fashion. As lead, you will be responsible for planning ~50 trucks daily in our proprietary software, ensuring ongoing DOT compliance and managing a mix of asset-based carriers and owner operators. The expectation is to lead the team through daily updates on primary metrics including cost and service measures unique to this fleet. As a director of Digital Operations, you will be working alongside technology professionals and must organize and prioritize their workload in collaboration with the technology lead. This role must manage and provide communication to all impacted stakeholders including operations, developers, carriers, finance and IT. The ideal candidate will leverage experience managing a 3PL, brokerage or trucking operation as well as IT expertise in Tiger Graph, Python or equivalent experience to focus on the following areas:

Responsibilities:

  • Direct daily work of IT team to optimize planning of trucks and automate operational processes.
  • Lead data analytics team in the organization, analysis and optimization of lane level detail including detailed pricing from internal data sources and external data sources (i.e. Load boards).
  • Manage and grow third party freight strategy to leverage third party freight boards to identify, assign and manage back office flow to ensure FMCSA compliance and appropriate billing protocol.
  • Create SOP for all exceptions of the business including, but not limited to, repowers, breakdowns, delays, appointment updates, accidents and claims.
  • Ensure ongoing DOT compliance for all driver requirements including but not limited to driver fitness, HOS (Hours of Service) and Drug & Alcohol Testing.
  • Manage fleet of approximately 100 trailers by ensuring equipment is being utilized, maintenance is up to date and ensure ongoing DOT compliance.
  • Motivates and directs the project team; sets goals, objectives and priorities; assigns and reviews project tasks and performance on a regular basis, benchmarking against key milestone deliverables.
  • May be asked to provide input into the performance reviews of team members.
  • Approves additions and deletions to staff over the life of the program.
  • Collaborates with cross functional teams including Enru Brokerage, National Planning and FP&A.
  • Acts as primary lead to ELT (Executive Leadership Team) concerning the overall deliverable of the program.
  • Accountable for meeting project schedule and results, client satisfaction and the quality of the deliverables.
  • Responsible for determining success criteria of overall project. This includes gathering information of client feedback, project team feedback and senior management direction.
  • Manages the overall program budget.
  • Coordinates requests for incremental funding if deemed necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Data Science, Engineering, IT, Business Management/Administration or work experience equivalent; Masters preferred.
  • Python, PMP, Tiger Graph or equivalent certification is a plus.
  • Must have 3-7 years of proven technology, data science or analytical experience.
  • Must have 3-7 years of proven Operations experience.
  • Proven success in prior program management positions and demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Large, complex projects that include integration across an enterprise.
  • This may include existing programs that require attention in sales, implementation, service or operations.
  • Demonstrated success in managing multi-line product projects. Experience in leading and directing multiple Project teams.
  • Proven track record of maintaining effective metrics in a trucking operation while navigating a highly matrixed environment.
  • Must possess a proven ability to work effectively with an aggressive, demanding client.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure and have a high tolerance for stress.
  • Must possess excellent organizational and time management skills for managing multiple, diverse and conflicting projects.
  • Must possess excellent communication, presentation, facilitation and team leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with executive level managers in a project-oriented setting where project risk is substantial and communication requirements are highly complex.
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective teams in a project-oriented setting where the team is large, geographically dispersed, and may have conflicting priorities and/or goals.
