POSITION SUMMARY

Sony Corporation of America is looking for a skilled and experienced 3D Capture Engineer to join our team in Culver City, CA. The 3D Capture Engineer will support 3D/4D CG production by ensuring efficient communication with talents and capture operation crew as well as technical innovation with R&D team in all aspects of 3DCG content production.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities of the 3D Capture Engineer include, but are not limited to:
  1. Support 3D Capture Director:
    - Assist the 3D Capture Director in running 3D/4D capture sessions, ensuring rigorous quality control in collaboration with the production and R&D teams.
    - Communicate detailed performance requirements to talent, guiding them to achieve the best results for 3D content creation.
  2. Technical Contribution:
    - Provide technical support for the development and improvement of the multi-camera capture system and operation engineering.
    - Collaborate with Computer Graphics researchers based on scientific survey, analysis, benchmarking, and quality validation.
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, meticulously recording each step of the R&D process.
    • Share best practices and technical insights with both artistic and engineering teams, promoting efficiency and innovation.
    • Facilitate and lead creative discussions, addressing production challenges, and identifying opportunities for workflow improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION

Your qualifications and experience should include:
  • Bachelor's degree of engineering or higher in the field of Electrical Engineering, Computer Graphics, or Computer Science.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in working on 3D face or body capture system engineering, game character animation, or photo-real CG content creation workflow in games, film or other entertainment industries.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Working Conditions:

Full-time: Fixed term for one year onsite.

Salary: $85-95K
