Job Title: Logistics Manager

Location: Leonia, NJ

Hours: 8am-4pm (with flexibility for longer days as needed)

Work Type: 100% On-site

Summary:

We are working with a Leonia, New Jersey based establishment in their search for an experienced and driven Distribution & Inventory Manager to oversee the daily operations of their Distribution, Receiving, Delivering, Mailroom, and Courier Services teams. This role requires a hands-on leader with excellent problem-solving, analytical, and process improvement skills to manage staff and ensure efficient and effective inventory management. Prior industry experience within healthcare strongly desired!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage, plan, and organize the activities of distribution, receiving, delivering, mailroom, and courier services personnel
  • Ensure inventory supplies are ordered, received, and issued in the correct quantities and in a timely manner
  • Lead the implementation of perpetual inventory management, using industry best practices, and establish cycle counts to ensure stock-on-hand accuracy
  • Develop staff schedules to improve productivity and create operational efficiencies within the department
  • Establish and monitor KPIs for inventory, including inventory turnover rate, days on hand, stock-outs, and fill rates
  • Assist Accounts Payable in resolving invoicing issues
  • Hire and train staff, conduct annual competency and performance reviews, and hold regular team meetings
  • Provide coaching, discipline as needed, and manage a team of 10-12 people in accordance with organizational policies

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree or at least 5 years of experience in Materials Management (in lieu of degree)
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business is highly preferred; MBA is a plus
  • Experience in healthcare is a plus but not required
  • Strong problem-solving skills, analytical mindset, and a proactive approach to process improvement
  • ERP experience is preferred (Lawson experience is a plus, but training will be provided)
  • Proven ability to manage a team and step up to lead without being asked
