Previous experience in a medical clinic setting is preferred, and dermatology experience is highly desired, but not required.
Job Summary:
Medical Assistants are responsible to assist our providers in offering exceptional patient care. They will create an atmosphere that reflects the high standard and care that patients expect to receive from our practice. To be successful in this position, the medical assistant must be organized, accurate, able to switch quickly to different tasks and must be professional in appearance and manner. They will be able to communicate with the provider and patient, being mindful of patient confidentiality. They will be able to evaluate and respond to a patient's needs and relay the doctor's instructions. In addition to patient care, the candidate will interact with clinic Providers and staff, managers, insurance companies and vendors in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for candidates who embrace technology, are detail oriented, and enjoy working with patients and their families.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
As assigned, but not limited to the following:
• Fulfill patient care responsibilities as assigned, anticipating provider needs.
• Greet and escort patients to and from exam room and help prep patient for exam.
• Review Health History to ensure it is thorough, complete and updated.
• Clean/straighten exam rooms and prepare room for anticipated procedures.
• Prepare procedure tray, instrument, and equipment set-up according to instructions.
• Assure smooth patient flow when rooming patients.
• Clean and sterilize all medical equipment and instruments.
• Assist providers during exams and procedures.
• Able to numb patient as directed by the provider.
• Able to scribe with strong documentation skills.
• Prepare path/lab specimens per protocol; complete path/lab requisition forms accurately and completely; document specimens in path log.
• Document visit in EMR clearly and accurately as directed.
• Return patient/pharmacy calls in a timely manner.
• Respond to patient questions in office and on phone as instructed.
• Review pathology and lab results with patients per provider's instructions.
• Schedule surgical procedure appointments on computer as necessary.
• Knowledgeable and compliant of HIPAA privacy standards.
• Schedule appointments for patients with other specialists.
• Fax appropriate records if necessary.
• Ability to follow full Medical Assistant job description and duties.

Qualifications:
• Medical Terminology knowledge
• High School Diploma required
• Recent college grads/pre-Med encouraged
• Medical clinic experience preferred
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred
• Dermatology experience highly desired
