CDnA - Senior Data Scientist

What you will do

In this vital role, you will leverage cutting-edge artificial intelligence tools and technology to influence decisions across the organization. This role requires extensive knowledge of machine learning, creativity to identify impactful opportunities for data science, and deep expertise with life sciences data. You will create solutions and insights to solve challenging business problems across multiple therapeutic areas and commercial functions.

The Senior Data Scientist will own the complete project lifecycle, from ideation to deployment, applying deep technical expertise to manipulate large datasets, write high-quality code, and adapt machine learning models to specific problems. This individual should be well-versed in moving models from development to production and tracking model performance. Strong storytelling skills are essential to distill complicated technical work into understandable outputs.

Projects supported by the Senior Data Scientist include physician targeting and segmentation, lead generation for field sales teams, patient journey mapping, disease incidence and prevalence projection, and predicting patients likely to start therapy.

Flexible Commuter role to Deerfield, IL office. You will work on-site a minimum of 2 days a week.

  • Fuel innovation by understanding biopharmaceutical, healthcare, and technology ecosystems.
  • Guide and mentor junior data scientists and machine learning engineers.
  • Transform business, medical, or scientific questions into analytical ones and map out solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with diverse technical, scientific, medical, and business constituents.
  • Employ supervised and unsupervised techniques to develop predictive models.
  • Lead the deployment of generative models for various applications.
  • Contribute ideas and methodologies to further build the team.

What we expect of you

The professional we seek is analytical with these qualifications.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree

OR

Master’s degree and 2 years of experience in a quantitative field

OR

Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of experience in a quantitative field

OR

Associate degree and 8 years of experience in a quantitative field

OR

High school diploma/GED and 10 years of experience in a quantitative field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in designing and applying supervised and unsupervised machine learning models.
  • Proficiency in machine learning tools, deep learning frameworks, and generative AI.
  • Deep programming expertise with Python and ML libraries like scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
  • Familiarity with distributed computing tools and cloud computing environments.
  • Experience with data engineering or modeling pipelines.
  • Excellent organization/planning skills for managing large datasets.
  • Ability to collaborate and influence business partners.
  • Strong communication skills for presenting complex work clearly.
  • Passion for learning and demonstrated intellectual curiosity.
  • Biotech / healthcare experience.
