The CIGNA Tax Department is seeking an experienced Tax Professional for a Tax Accountant role that will directly support its Statutory Accounting operations. The Tax Department is known throughout the company for its technical innovation. Our Tax Accountants are encouraged to not only develop their own job specific technical competencies but to expand their skills across the department in different areas of insurance taxation.Major DutiesResponsible for tax statutory accounting including interim and yearend calculations, tie out of annual statements/audited financial statements, and corresponding tax footnote preparation.Assist with responses to audit requests from PWC and insurance departments.Develops strong working relationships with team members and internal accounting contacts.Acts as a resource on special projects including support and participation in tax planning initiatives.Utilizes independent judgment and discretion while working on tax research and special projects.Demonstrates ownership of cyclical responsibilities, and the ability to manage various tasks simultaneously during peak periods.Actively contributes to building a high performance culture and a positive work environment.Required Qualifications:Bachelors degree with a concentration in Accounting2-5 years of Public Accounting or Corporate Tax (income tax experience is a must)Must be able to demonstrate competencies in corporate income tax and working in a team environment.
