**License:** Must have an active state license at the time of application
**Certifications:** Current Basic Life Support certification
**Must-Have:** Pediatric experience, flu vaccinations, valid driver's license
**Job Description:**
- Provide pediatric physical therapy evaluations and treatments to improve patients' functional abilities.
- Conduct assessments, perform evaluations, identify therapy diagnoses, and formulate and implement therapy treatment plans with goals.
- Serve as the primary therapy provider to implement, supervise, and modify therapy plans of care based on patient response.
- Attend care conferences, meetings, and rounds, remaining in contact with referring providers and other rehabilitation professionals.
- Document patient encounters, findings, and treatments including diagnoses, treatment plans, recommendations, and prognoses following hospital policies.
- Direct work of support staff, students, or interns and develop patient education and therapy programs based on patient and family needs.
- Advise patients and family members in methods that facilitate self-care and independence.
- Assist senior staff in administrative duties and clinic operations as needed.
- Utilize the hospital computer system to obtain patient information and ensure timely flow of information.
- Assist in acquiring and fitting durable medical equipment and maintaining supply stocks and clinical equipment.
- Educate staff on physical therapy issues and provide consultations, presentations, and in-service training.
- Participate in project or health promotion teams, continuing education, and remain current with therapy procedures and techniques.
- Provide therapy services outside of the main facility, including in community clinics, senior centers, health/job fairs, or patient homes.
- Engage in occasional multi-day travel to remote locations by boat or small plane, possibly in harsh weather conditions.
- Demonstrate accountability for contribution to program development, quality improvement, and productivity enhancement.
- Adhere to regulatory and practice standards of physical therapy set by the American Physical Therapy Association.
- Maintain confidentiality and quality assurance standards, demonstrating sensitivity to cross-cultural issues.
