PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVES OF POSITION

This position is responsible for overseeing General Managers and School Districts to ensure that school meals programs (K-12) under contract management are receiving adequate supervision, support, training and resources for the calendar year. Responsible of strategically managing the operations

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Oversee duties assigned to the General Managers of SLA.
  2. Ensuring that resources are in place from both a staffing and supply standpoint.
  3. Oversee a wide range of functions such as food quality, production, planning, purchasing, and facility maintenance.
  4. Supervise Leaders in order to develop an in-unit marketing strategy.
  5. Supervise that General Managers are making sure that the Kitchen Managers are completing the following tasks successfully and timely: Uphold ServSafe standards, child nutrition regulations, federal, state, and local laws governing school food service and SLA Management policies and procedures • Ensure use of proper techniques for maintenance of cleanliness and preparation of food and kitchen • Submit orders for food, kitchen supplies, office supplies, etc. • Maintain adequate and accurate inventory • Administrative duties including, production sheets, payroll adjustments, etc. • Plan, coordinate, oversee, and participate in preparation, cooking, and serving of menu items • Ensure accurate payment information and cash flow; complete deposits of cash as necessary
  6. Approve schedules for their areas
  7. Control Labor Cost managing hours worked
  8. Control Supplies costs
  9. Recruit for their areas
  10. Responsible of Retention in their areas.
  11. Meet Sales Target.
  12. Train, develop and mentor General Managers.
  13. Make sure their leaders are enforcing Company Policies, State rules, regulations and laws.
  14. Create and Conduct Performance Counseling Forms and Meetings
  15. Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Strong work ethic and team player
  • Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills
  • Ability to communicate with various levels of management
  • Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills.
  • Ability to pass an extensive nationwide criminal background check and fingerprint analysis.
  • Must have a High School diploma, GED, or Equivalent vocational training in a relevant field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in food service and fresh food production.
  • Driving required role, must be able to pass an MVR audit
  • Strong computer and analytical skills, with the ability to build and manage spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel, and documents in both Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience with POS and online reporting systems is also strongly preferred.
  • Must have strong leadership skills and abilities, coupled with a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Financial acumen.
  • Must have the ability to work independently while keeping the executive management team updated on pertinent information from the field.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and peripheral vision.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This position will be involved in computer tasks and telephone communication including, but not limited to, customer service. This job requires a comprehensive work effort while generally working a regular five day work week schedule, however, occasionally a six or seven day work schedule may be required. Corporate meetings and functions may be required.
