Solarity is currently looking for a Desktop Systems Administrator II to join our growing team in Springfield, MO!
The Desktop Systems Administrator II position will perform work in the Solarity IT environment focusing on Windows workstations, Macintosh workstations, thin terminals, VDI, associated management toolsets and overall user experience for our employees and contractors. This position is responsible for escalations from the IT Support help desk in addition to System Administrator I positions. Position will work primarily in the Windows OS, Macintosh OS, Active Directory, GPO, ManageEngine Endpoint Central, Citrix VDI, mobile device management, and Microsoft 365 environments to provide the best end-user computing experience to our employees.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Work directly with Systems Administrators, IT Support members and other invested teams to develop, implement and support new end user solutions which address identified business needs.
  • Lead cross-training of the IT Support members as they will be performing support of the solutions designed.
  • Develop thorough and accurate procedures and knowledge base content for developed solutions.
  • Take the initiative to improve processes, solutions and configurations rather than transact on legacy procedures.
  • Take personal ownership of daily tasks and challenges, ensuring resolution with a high degree of quality and customer satisfaction with a minimum direct supervision.
  • Quickly and effectively troubleshoot escalated end user issues.
  • Bring your personal passion for technology to your work environment and have it reflect on your daily enthusiasm and energy.
  • Establish yourself as reliable, thorough and productive in a highly autonomous environment.
  • Work well in a team environment.
  • Provide strong mentoring to junior staff to promote knowledge understanding and growth at Solarity
  • Independently complete system changes and project deliverables as assigned.
  • Serve as backup to Systems Administrator I as needed.
  • Created detailed documentation of systems and procedures.
  • Created detailed knowledge base articles for consumption into the various departments
  • Comply with Solarity's policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • May be required to perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of proactive technical experience in predominantly a Microsoft environment.
  • An Associate's or Bachelor's degree with a relevant focus in information technology.
  • Proven ability to lead technology projects (e.g., build robust Windows 10 / 11 base deployments, develop comprehensive software deployment processes, automate day-to-day tasks, implement and define procedures for enterprise products in use IT Infrastructure and IT Support.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft server and desktop operating systems and infrastructure services including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP.
  • Experience with client/server applications.
  • Knowledge of VDI infrastructure and application delivery tools
  • Skills in mobile operating systems and mobile device management solutions
  • Ubiquiti Unifi hardware experience a plus.
  • Exposure to VMware vSphere based infrastructure.
  • On-premise Exchange experience a plus.
  • Experience with device image management.
  • Experience with security software products.
  • A knack for keeping the business and your customer in focus.
  • Demonstrated ability to automate daily work. Experience with system orchestration a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, desire to work in a team setting.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to absorb new ideas and concepts quickly.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Available to participating in an On-call rotation.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed.
