**Job Title:** Registered Nurse - Float Pool
**Job Specialty:** Flex Staffing II-IV Per Diem
**Job Duration:** 14 weeks
**Shift:** Nights, 3x12 hours
**Guaranteed Hours:** 36.00 hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
**License:** Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse
**Certifications:**
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification
- ACLS may be required depending on float area
- NIHSS may be required depending on float area
**Must-Have:**
- Nursing Diploma or ADN/ASN from an accredited school of Nursing
**Job Description:**
- Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards in a hospital setting.
- Reports to and is accountable to the Nurse Manager/Director.
- Coordinates and delivers patient care utilizing the nursing process.
- Participates in identifying and meeting learning needs through education programs.
- Uses patient education materials relevant to patient population.
- Communicates relevant information to promote continuity of care.
- Demonstrates competence in care of patients with complex problems, addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs.
- Utilizes organizational and nursing standards, policies, and procedures in delivery of care.
- Organizes and prioritizes care according to patient/family needs.
- Consults with appropriate resources regarding patients with complex care issues.
- Develops and achieves goals to promote professional growth.
- Participates in development and achievement of unit goals and performance improvement activities.
- Promotes a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment for all.
- Recognizes data from complex situations to determine priorities for care.
- Collaborates with patient/family to prepare or update the plan of care.
- Identifies and addresses cultural and ethnic issues in planning patient care.
- Reads journals with studies or articles applicable to practice and brings ideas and questions for assessment.
