Who are you?
You are an experienced Mortgage Loan Originator with a passion for community impact. You have a strong understanding of the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and a drive to make a positive difference through home lending. As a Mortgage Loan Originator II, you will play a key role in our commitment to providing personalized, accessible mortgage solutions, especially to low- to moderate-income communities. You will be responsible for:
  1. Proactively engaging with prospective clients to originate residential mortgage loans, with some focus on loans that align with CRA guidelines, targeting low- to moderate-income communities.
  2. Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with realtors, builders, community partners, and other referral sources to generate a consistent pipeline of loan opportunities.
  3. Providing expert guidance to clients throughout the mortgage process, from application through closing, ensuring a smooth and personalized experience. Deliver clear communication about loan products, terms, and conditions
  4. Efficiently managing a pipeline of loans, tracking each loan’s progress and ensuring all documentation is completed accurately and on time. Coordinate with internal departments such as underwriting, processing, and closing.
  5. Participating in community outreach programs and events to promote financial literacy and homeownership, particularly in underrepresented communities.

Requirements:
Education & Experience – 4-6 years of previous related mortgage lending experience and/or training OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred – CRA-related lending experience and bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
Required Certifications – NMLS (within 1 year of employment).
Skills – You should possess well-developed abilities and a proven track record in the following areas:
  • Proven experience as a Mortgage Loan Originator with a strong knowledge of current mortgage products, regulations, and underwriting requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with customers, realtors, and community organizations.
  • Exceptional communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Capable of critical thinking and assessing complex situations.
  • Highly attentive to detail with strong organizational abilities.
