OVERALL FUNCTION


This full-time role is responsible for talent acquisition efforts with the Northwestern Mutual – Scranton office and is key to executing our recruiting strategy. The process includes sourcing, recruiting, and selecting full-time and college financial advisors, while continuously enhancing our processes. 

In this role, you would be expected to build quality relationships while promoting the Northwestern Mutual career opportunity, generating candidate referrals, and helping to develop leaders. Creativity, exceptional communication skills and the drive to achieve results are critical in this position. 


GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES


The Talent Acquisition Lead is responsible for the 3 main areas:

• Sourcing 

• Selection 

• Accountability, Tracking, and Analysis


The core responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:


Sourcing

o Build and develop effective referral sources:

- In-office: current and former interns, financial representatives, staff, leaders

- On-campus: centers of influence (COI), professors, department heads, athletics, career services, student organizations

- Community: centers of influence (COI) 

o Actively participate in campus & community clubs and organizations to promote and brand Northwestern Mutual

o Coordinate advertising and marketing strategies on campus & in the community including the career services website, online job postings and advertising to include ads, direct mail, community events, etc.

o Develop relationships with other Northwestern Mutual talent acquisition professionals to share leads and best practices

o Prepare and maintain recruiting and marketing materials


Selection

o Be knowledgeable on information and language regarding all aspects of the financial representative career and each step of the selection process

o Specific selection process accountability to include but not limited to screening candidates, conducting initial interviews, administering selection tools and guiding candidates through the selection process

o Review resumes, schedule initial interviews and coordinate continued interview steps 

o Maintain integrity and consistency of the selection process

o Effectively communicate with candidates

o Manage the transition of candidates offered a contract, including supporting any pre-contract tasks to be completed by the candidate while onboarding 


Accountability, Tracking, and Analysis

o Report weekly recruiting activity to leadership team

o Develop proficiency and use of home office-supported software to maintain candidate databases and accurate records of prospects to ensure efficiency of the selection process

o Assist in the coordination of leadership team meetings and the preparation of activity/results reports

o Analyze recruiting ratios to identify inefficiencies in selection process; establish and implement improvements

QUALIFICATIONS


• Bachelor’s degree preferred

• Recent Graduate to three years professional work experience ideal 

• Strong personal network and/or community involvement 

• Ability to work in a highly collaborative and interdependent team setting
