POSITION SUMMARY:

Balchem is looking for a Cost Analyst. This role will report directly to the Supply Chain Finance Sr. Manager. Responsibilities will include supporting close activities for selected plants, cost containment actions and driving accountability to targeted commitments. The individual should have an eye towards continuous improvement, leveraging technology and other solutions to automate and scale our processes to enable strategic decisions. The individual must possess excellent critical thinking skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and possess an attention to detail.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Proactively support thoughtful analysis regarding the Supply Chain impact on the P&L, Balance Sheet and key financial metrics.
  2. Support financial close for selected plants/locations, including preparation of SOX documentation and Balance Sheet Reconciliations.
  3. Prepare and enter journal entries.
  4. Review and close batch orders on a weekly basis.
  5. Contribute to developing annual budgets (plant expenditures).
  6. Support annual standard cost updates and estimate new product costs.
  7. Assist in analyzing monthly variances to standard cost (PPV, Material Usage Variance, Efficiency Variance) and partner with key supply chain leadership (primarily plant personnel).
  8. Supply external audit team with information and analysis for annual audits and quarterly reviews as required.
  9. Other Ad Hoc as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  2. 1-3 years of directly related Finance experience within a manufacturing/supply chain organization.
  3. Strong Excel Skills, Microsoft office suite, Power BI a plus.
  4. Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities.
  5. Aptitude to succeed in a competitive and deadline-oriented environment.
  6. Solid understanding of Information Systems/ERP Systems.
