JOB SUMMARY
As a Consultant, you will lead organizations through transitions to optimize business operations, strengthen organizational culture and adopt new practices and technology. Your role involves assessing current organizational practices, identifying potential obstacles to change, and developing tailored plans to ensure smooth transitions. Utilizing strong communication and interpersonal skills, you will collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to foster a culture that embraces change while maintaining operational effectiveness. Ultimately, you will play a crucial role in guiding clients toward successful and sustainable transformational outcomes. Your work may include creating presentations, leading client discussions to gather input, providing feedback to staff to strengthen work products and analyzing data into themes and trends.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Leading work streams within a client engagement
- Designing and leading interviews with client staff
- Building creative solutions, such as organizational structures, processes, and people-oriented programs
- Planning projects and tracking project status, keeping leaders informed of project risks/issues
- Developing storyboards, core messages and key data points to guide presentations with clients
- Writing clear and concise communications for executives and broad audiences
- Leading client meetings to review work products, task status, and next steps
- Participating in business development efforts, writing proposal content and supporting account plans
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Leads work streams or small projects successfully with autonomy
- Effectively sets priorities, tracks deadlines and quality, escalates risks, and provides technical expertise
- Designs complex solutions and assists with financial tracking
- Owns work product from beginning to end, drafting a storyboard and content, and finalizing content to review with clients
- Facilitates successful client sessions, identifies the right problem, and communicates in a way that fosters client commitment
- Contributes meaningful outputs to Business Development activities through the drafting of proposals, white papers, and other opportunities to demonstrate thought leadership
- Provides feedback and guidance to team members to develop skills and enhance performance
- Demonstrates resiliency and adaptability, adjusting approaches to meet changing client needs
- Uses Microsoft Office 365 tools with high fluency
- Adjusts to evolving project needs while maintaining a calm, professional approach grounded in flexibility and humility
EXPERIENCE AND CREDENTIALS
Required Experience and Credentials:
- Bachelor’s Degree and 4-7 years of professional experience in one of the following functional areas: Organizational Development, Change Management, Employee and Customer Experience, Strategic Communications, Organizational Psychology, Process Improvement, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA), Learning & Development, Human Capital, and/or Project Management/Analytics
- In place of a degree, 7-10 years of transferrable work experience will be considered
- Ability to obtain Public Trust Security Clearance
Preferred Experience and Credentials:
- Management Consulting experience within the federal sector
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) or other related field of study
Prosci certification and/or, Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP)

TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS
This is a hybrid job with 80-90% percent of work conducted remotely and up to 20% travel. Further details are provided below.
Occasional travel may be required for client workshops or onsite presence, but this is not a traditional on-the-road consulting role. Totem defines local travel as travel that is within 50 miles from the client location. On an as needed basis and as directed by the client, staff may be required to travel locally to the client location. Local travel will not be reimbursed by Totem. Travel performed for personal convenience or daily travel to and from work at the designated work site will not be reimbursed.
