About the Role

Scarsdale Vets, Oakwood are looking for a vet surgeon to join their team to work in their purpose-built RCVS accredited practice. Offering a mix of preventative, medical, and surgical cases within a 1st opinion setting. Oakwood is part of Scarsdale, offering fantastic facilities and support while being run independently for a more relaxed pace. Rota

Ideally, we are looking for a vet for 20 hours per week across 2 days, with 1:4 Saturday mornings (8:30am-1:00pm) & 1:8 Sunday day shifts. However, we can offer flexible working patterns that adapt to your lifestyle.

About Us

Based in Oakwood, a suburb of Derby, we are supported by our Tier 3 accredited hospital and 8 sister practice sites, all accredited by the RCVS under the Practice Standards Scheme. We have a team of registered veterinary nurses, veterinary care assistants, and client care advisors.

Our practice is well-equipped with lab facilities, digital x-ray, ultrasound, theatre suite, and two consulting rooms. Our main hospital provides out of hours care and hospitalisation facilities, including a CT scanner, MRI, Advanced Ultrasound, Endoscopy, Digital X-ray, Dental radiography, and multiple surgical suites, as well as an onsite hydrotherapy & rehabilitation centre.

Centrally located, we have great transport links to the rest of the country, with trains running from Derby to London, Nottingham, Birmingham, and Leeds. East Midlands airport is just 30 minutes away.

Minimum Requirements

Must be RCVS registered, confident in all aspects of 1st opinion work, have a clean and current driving licence, work well in a team environment as well as on a one-to-one basis, be self-motivated, and confident in their skillset.
