School-age Care Assistant Director (Genesee Hill Elementary School)

If you have school-age childcare experience and would enjoy helping to lead a small team, then Associated Recreation Council (ARC) has a role for you as a School-age Care Assistant Director with Genesee Hill Elementary School. This is a year-round, full-time position starting ASAP.

ARC, in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation, serves Seattle by offering access to licensed childcare and a variety of recreational and lifelong learning programs, classes, and activities. In this role, School-age Childcare Assistant Directors will assist the Director in leading groups of children through fun, creative, safe, and welcoming activities for children to learn, play, and grow during our after-school program.

Location: Genesee Hill Elementary School - Seattle, WA.

Schedule:

  • Full-time, non-exempt; up to 35 hours during the school year and up to 40 hours during the summer.

School-age Care Assistant Director Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the Director in mentoring, training, and coaching staff in the development and implementation of the program.
  • Demonstrate and model desirable leadership qualities to reporting staff and participants.
  • Oversee and/or lead opening and closing procedures daily.
  • Communicate with SAC team members, families, community center staff, and Seattle Public Schools staff.

School-age Care Assistant Director Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Have a minimum of 30 college credits.
  • Prior experience in childcare.
  • Minimum of one year supervisory experience.

Pay:

  • Starting pay: $25.00/hr.
  • Full Pay Range: $25.00 - $31.25/hr (Over time, the employee in this role may earn up to $31.25/hr with additional years of service).

The new hire signing bonus will be paid out in three (3) installments:

  • $200 after the successful completion of 30 days of employment.
