Job Description

An employer in Louisville KY is looking for a Construction Estimator to join their team for a permanent direct hire opportunity! This individual will be responsible for preparing project estimates, reviewing specifications, drawings, and attending pre-bid meetings to determine the scope of work. They will use historical data to inform unit and man-hour figures, and maintain accurate files with current supplier prices. They will calculate material quantities from drawings and prepare discipline estimates, recommend cost-effective design options and assist in negotiating contracts/change orders. They will also ensure final estimate packages are accurate before formal quotation. Finally, they will help decide which projects to bid on and participate in presentations and pre-qualification document preparation. Skills and Requirements

  • 4 year engineer/construction degree and/or related experience

 - Experience with the following:

   Bidding (due dates, security/bonding requirements, pre-bidding)

   Dealing with insurance requirements/liquidated damages

   Scheduling requirements, safety plans, execution plans, etc

Reviewing sample contracts, general conditions, wage requirements null
