Senior Tax Accountant
Job Overview
The Senior Tax Accountant will prepare and review multiple tax projects in order to provide quality tax services and deliverables for our clients.
Objective
The Senior Tax Accountant will prepare and manage a variety of tax projects for clients. This position requires strong technical and communication skills to coordinate with staff, managers and clients to ensure timely, quality delivery of both simple and complex tax projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong tax background and be able to execute both simple and complex tax strategies.
Responsibilities
• Oversee and perform as necessary tax compliance activities for individuals and businesses, including:
• Prepare and Review Federal and State income tax returns
• Tax planning and projections
• Tax research, resolution and correspondence
• Manage client information requests and deliverables
• Ensure accurate, timely filing of federal, state, and local tax returns
• Ensure quality standards are maintained
• Provide support on special tax projects and initiatives
• Collaborate with staff, clients and management
• Assist with Firm Initiatives as necessary
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/ Tax or equivalent work
    experience (8 year minimum required with no degree- only across 1 or 2 firms in that time!)
  • 4 plus years experienced in Tax Program Software.
  • Experience in preparing financial statements, payroll reports and annual 1099's
  • CPA or EA preferred
4 years in Full-cycle accounting including: General Ledger, fixed assets, bank reconciliations, and month-end closing. Proficiency in Quickbooks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with minimal supervision and multiple deadlines.
  • The right candidate will be detail oriented with a strong work ethic and excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge in tax and accounting research techniques and resources.
