Nightwing, a $1.8 billion intelligence services company, is hiring a Director of Financial Reporting to lead our Financial Reporting group. Initially, this role will focus on setting up processes and onboarding staff for general ledger, financial reporting, and technical accounting. The role will also act as the audit and tax liaison and participate in ERP, payroll, and travel & expense system implementations. Once these systems are established, the role will manage all aspects of financial reporting. This role requires adaptable leadership capacity to develop effective professional relationships with external and internal customers, and senior leadership.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as an accounting interface with the Costpoint ERP implementation, payroll, and travel & expense systems.
- Oversee accounting operations designed to support monthly accounting close process; Lead the preparation, analysis, and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including resolution of discrepancies should they arise.
- Complete assessments of complex accounting matters in coordination with stakeholders (e.g. purchasing accounting, interpretation and application of internal policy and GAAP pronouncements, revenue recognition, and impairment analyses).
- Develop, implement, and administrate accounting controls and policies supportive of an appropriately robust internal control environment aligned with business requirements.
- Serve as lead interface with external auditors and outsourced tax services to ensure compliance and fidelity of financial reporting.
Required Skills:
- Must have at least 12+ years of related professional experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance OR a minimum of 20+ years of related professional experience in lieu of a degree can be substituted. A Master’s degree in a related field can substitute 2 years of professional experience.
- Must have experience in system transitions or deployments.
- Proficient knowledge of US GAAP.
- Active CPA license.
- US Citizenship.
Desired Skills:
Strong analytical, critical thinking, writing and interpersonal skills are vital to this role, as is the ability to interact with all levels of executive and divisional management to provide meaningful, practical and efficient guidance.
Experience with Costpoint and government contracting is a plus.

The salary range for this role is 188,000 USD - 378,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
