Renaissance Patriot Place, a Colwen Hotels property, has an incredible opportunity for an Area Director of Sales to join our team. This role will lead the sales efforts for the Renaissance Hotel and Hilton Garden Inn Patriot Place. The Area Director of Sales is responsible for driving overall sales and marketing results across all segments, including catering and directing the property sales team, ensuring goals are achieved. You will collaborate with the sales team, hotel and regional leadership to generate new business, set strategies to increase occupancy and rooms and event revenue. The ideal candidate for this role is a highly motivated, energetic seasoned hospitality sales professional.

General Responsibilities:

  • Direct, lead, coordinate and supervise sales team in all sales related activities
  • Grow existing accounts and generate new business to exceed budget and maximize revenue and profits
  • Maintain existing account relationships
  • Formulate sales and marketing strategies for assigned hotel
  • Collaborate with sales team, revenue management and Hotel General Managers to maximize profitability of properties while maintaining guest satisfaction
  • Work closely with sales teams and Hotel General Managers at assigned hotels to assist in capturing group and catering business in all segments
  • Train and support all sales associates and ensure performance in accordance with established hotel brand/Colwen sales standards
  • Set sales strategies to achieve overall property goals for both rate and occupancy
  • Create and execute annual marketing plan addressing sales strategy and budget goals
  • Understand hotel operations including room types, meeting capacities, service and features and benefits of assigned properties
  • Solid knowledge of market conditions and competitors, economic trends and supply and demand
  • Generate monthly banquet revenue forecasts
  • Negotiate food and beverage pricing, meeting room rental, and other services
  • Proactive solicitation of new business to achieve region revenue goals
  • Meet monthly revenue goals for both room and banquet sales
  • Achieve your personal sales call goals and advise team on meeting assigned goals
  • Target accounts, markets or segments with proactive solicitation and account saturation
  • Participate in local networking organizations, community, and industry events while representing Colwen Hotels in a professional manner

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years Hotel Director of Sales experience, with a strong emphasis on catering and food and beverage
  • 4+ years proven sales record
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process
  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Strong leader of people
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Familiar with common computer software programs, ability to learn new software programs
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills (experience with CI/TY, Delphi and iPlan systems)
